Coupons! Coupons! Coupons!
Today's $ TIP OF THE DAY is from one of my friends Micaela.COUPONS!!So as far as coupons are concerned...the coupon inserts in the newspaper usually follow the weekly ads for the stores...so, what I do is I only clip coupons for what I use (no sense in spending on something you don't use, just because you have a coupon for it!) and then I watch ads for when that item is on sale and the eureka moment is when the store is offering double coupons at the same time!
I have bought a jar of peanut butter for $.10! I have a friend who regularly "makes" money with coupons. My goal is to add up my total savings on my bill (from the specials) and my coupon savings and have the two amounts be equal to or more than what I actually spent.
Coupon codes online are great. Everytime I purchase something online I open a new window and search the store's name and coupon codes...then I review the current codes for the best deal. With a few extra minutes...you can save 20% or get $25 off of $100 or more or at the very least free shipping.
And, I always check ebay and craigslist before I buy something elsewhere. Many people re-sell something (brand new) for less than a store offers it!-The Budgetnista (via Micaela)
